NAMI Speakers Bureau
NAMI St Louis has a Speakers Bureau which provides speakers at special meetings and events in the St Louis metropolitan area. Most of the speakers are NAMI volunteers who are knowledgeable about mental illness and the organization’s programs and services.
Some speakers are family members of individuals with mental illness. Other speakers may be consumers (persons living with mental illness). At times, the speakers may describe their personal or family experience as a means of engaging the interest of those with whom they are meeting.
Speakers Bureau volunteers are experienced in speaking in front of groups and in fielding questions. Often, they bring handouts about mental illness, community resources, and NAMI St Louis programs and services.
If you are interested in having a NAMI St Louis speaker at your place of work, community organization, church, or civic club, please call us at 314-962-4670.
We will be delighted to arrange a speaker and provide resource materials that will be most helpful to you and your group.
