Online 2nd Thursday Wellness Series

September 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

Topic: Mental Health & Transition Age Youth: What you should know and how to get support through the Missouri Transition-Aged Youth Local Engagement and Recovery (MO TAY-LER) initiative.

Description of Presentation: The MO TAY-LER initiative focuses on improving access to care for behavioral health services by enhancing outreach strategies, improving inter-agency communication and service coordination. Through community education, MO TAY-LER seeks to provide education to raise awareness and reduce stigma around serious mental illness (SMI) and the challenges faced by TAY. Our messaging is grounded in youth voice and evidence-based materials to answer these questions: What are the signs & symptoms of SMI, and how can I recognize them? What can I do to help myself or to help a loved one? Recovery is possible! SMI is not the end of the road, but a step in the journey.

Speaker: Shannon Smith, MSW -MO TAY-LER Project Coordinator & Tory Drayton, B.S -Youth/Young Adult Coordinator
